A faithful Miss America enthusiast, Susan has served at many state and local pageants as an emcee and special entertainer. She has been a professional singer, spokesperson and television reporter. Susan is currently a freelance fashion consultant whose work has taken her as far away as Italy to work with Gucci. Susan is married to Alan Botsford, whom she met in a blizzard in Boston during her year of service as Miss America. Susan and Alan have two children and Susan is a Sunday school teacher, room parent, fundraiser and soccer coach. In November of 2000, Susan walked in the New York Marathon with the Achilles Club (which serves disabled and senior athletes) as a guide for an 80 year old former Marine Colonel.
